Kucera embarks on mission trip to Africa

Mike Kucera, our Retirement Plans Division leader, is taking a mission trip to Malawi, Africa during the last week in April and the first week in May. His group is working in a village to provide clothing, housing, medical supplies and other care.  They are also delivering fun, recreational items like soccer equipment to the children in the area.  Malawi has an AID's crisis and Mike and his team look forward to making a difference in the lives of a few Malawians.

Golf Outing to benefit FACES Foundation

The 3rd Annual Philip C. Lamka Memorial Golf Outing is 10AM June 7th at Dunham Hills in Hartland. The outing benefits The FACES (Family and Caregiver Education and Support) Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation, helping those with lung diseases “breathe easy”.  This foundation acknowledges and advocates for the many "faces" of those living, or caring for people with life-threatening lung disease.   In fact, St Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor named the first PHIL Award (Pulmonary Health and Illnesses of the lung) in 2007 to an outstanding respiratory therapist.

The FACES Foundation was created in the memory of Philip Lamka, who died in June of 2005 after a courageous battle with Interstitial Lung Disease.  Phil and his wife Sharman Lamka learned first hand the importance of emotional support and comfort care.

The Lamka’s have been clients of Chris Cousins for many years, and Chris is honored to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the FACES Foundation.

If you would like more information about the organization or to sign up for the golf outing, please contact Sharman Lamka (248) 563-2642 or go to www.thefacesfoundation.org.
